SERVE: Adopt a Block

Adopt-a-Block is a ministry that SERVES hot meals every Tuesday evening to a community in need of the Father's love. There will be opportunities to talk with and pray for people. As the weather gets nicer, we will SERVE the community on Saturdays with yard cleanup, garbage runs, or whatever they want done. We meet at the church, 4:30 and carpool to the community.

SERVE: Cookies for the Homeless

We will be baking cookies for the Brown Bag Brigade. The BBB is a group in Monroe that provides lunches to many needy recipients each Wednesday. Participants will take turns baking cookies at their own home and delivering them to the Brown Bag Brigade.

SERVE: At Sky Valley Food Bank

Are you a gardener or maybe you have always wanted to be? Join other families and individuals in working at the Sky Valley Food Bank Garden. Plant, tend, harvest and SERVE families in the Sky Valley region in this unique SERVE Reach Team alongside the Britten Family and community Master Gardeners. The SERVE Reach Team will meet every other Saturday throughout the Spring and Summer and may meet more depending on specific duties required in tending the gardens. Learn the life-long skill of gardening while feeding those in need.

SERVE: Matthew House
Nahshon, Rachel and Sydney Graumann/ Catharine Lopez

Matthew House ministers to the families of men incarcerated at the prisons in Monroe. On the first Saturday of each month, they provide lunch, groceries and clothing to these families while they are in town visiting their family member. We want to SERVE on this day by serving lunch, bagging groceries, sorting clothing, providing crafts/playing games with the children and anything else needed. This is a great opportunity for SERVE-ants of all ages!

SERVE: Meals for TRC Families

This team prepares meals for people who are sick or have a baby. We try to make recovery just a little bit easier by providing meals that can really lift someone's heart. We each make a meal so that they can have several days worth.


SERVE: Monroe Gospel Mission
Shana VanProyen

Join us twice a month as we build relationships with the women at the shelter and just bless them. Each visit we provide a craft activity, desserts, and a special time of worship and devotions. It is an amazing place to SERVE and bring the message of Hope to hurting women.

SERVE: Monroe Skate Park

Come join us twice a month as we enhance Monroe's Skate Park. We will provide general maintenance such as picking up litter, sweeping debris, removing graffiti, pulling weeds and reporting any park hazards. This will be a great opportunity to SERVE and educate the public about creating and preserving a clean and safe park for our community.

SERVE: Red Cross Training

Get certified as a Red Cross Volunteer! The Red Cross will conduct classes so that we will be able to staff the Red Cross shelter at The Rock Church. You will become a member of the Red Cross and help SERVE our community in times of crisis.

 


SERVE: Regency Care Center of Monroe

Join us as we minister and build relationships with the residents of Regency Care Center. We hold a church service for the residents, complete with praise and worship, a short word and ministry time. It's a great opportunity to have one on one conversation with people and share the love of Christ.

Come join us as we learn basic sewing techniques, fabrics, cutting layouts, reading and understanding a sewing pattern. We will learn how to setup and run a sewing machine and will work on such projects like making bags. (Note: you will need your own sewing machine).

For Valentine's Day we will make our own truffles and caramels and then make the heart shaped box to present them to your Valentine in! For St. Patrick's Day we will make festive green petite fours on a four-leaf clover cake board and for Easter we will make egg shaped cake truffles decorated and placed in a custom adorned basket!
